I am just beginning to get into SharePoint 2007 custom development. I've been pinging several developers I know in the community to try to get some best practices for development and deployment. Everyone seems to have a different opinion so I'm attempting to develop my own flavor and will hopefully document it here when I get it ironed out. Today I spent most of the day leveraging some walkthroughs from the VSeWSS 1.1 that was released yesterday. Thus far the process seems to make sense but I've been warned that it only gets me about 90% of the way and I'll have to abandon it and come up with my own methods for deployment.
